-Bay State Marauders, a new leather social club in the Boston area, has formed. On Friday, February 27th; 10 PM at the Boston Ramrod, 1254 Boylston St, the club will be having its kickoff party as a formal announcement of the club. This is a club specifically for gay leather men who are interested in going beyond the bar and beyond the keyboard.
The Bay State Marauders is a fellowship of members, primarily leather/levi oriented, whose purpose is to develop character and leadership in the spirit of friendship, brotherhood and goodwill.
In February of 2003, in the back room of the Ramrod, two friends were having a conversation. One asked the other if he was interested in forming a leather club. They agreed, and in the beginning of March 2003, after speaking with friends, six men met in a house in Quincy to discuss the idea of forming a leather club. At this meeting, they all sat down and discussed what type of club they wanted to form. They decided it would be formed as an independent social club for gay leathermen in the Boston area.
After months of hard work, formalization of documents and club colors, and with the six original members growing to fifteen in one year, the Bay State Marauders is now ready to present itself publicly to accept new members. Anyone interested in obtaining information on how to join should attend the kick off party.
